HiPOD (16 May 2018): Layers in a Syria Planum Pit 

   There are up to a dozen horizontal layers in the walls of this collapse feature here, a known volcanic field. These layers could be yet unmapped volcanic units (lavas or ash deposits) and their identification can lead to a greater understanding of the history of this volcanic terrain.
