Cerussite is a lead carbonate mineral, usually found in the oxidized zone of lead ore deposits. It is a very common weathering product of galena and other lead ore minerals.
Goethite is a common mineral, and is a frequent matrix material for other more aesthetic minerals. Goethite may form radiating cluster of deep black crystals or massive stalactites that exhibit a rainbow of iridescent colours.
The material is often cut and polished into interesting free forms.
