In the afternoon in the apartment on the third floor about 16 hours the woman heard a strange clap, but looked out, did not notice anything. When the owner returned home, he looked more closely at the balcony and saw a round hole in the glass. The man called the police.

The arriving policemen inspected the scene of the incident, but the inspection will not be carried out, as the host refused to write the application. According to the owner of the apartment, there is no reason to believe that the hole was made by any projectile – the edges of the glass were smooth, as if melted. Around were small fragments. Another round hole, no more than one centimeter in diameter, was discovered later. The owners of the apartment decided that they had been visited by ball lightning.

The weather forecasters do not deny the possibility of a ball lightning in principle, but in this case they doubt that it could arise. “The weather on May 23 was cool – about +16 degrees in the afternoon, cloudy, weak short rain, there were no thunderstorms. The north wind is temperate. Quite strange would be the appearance of lightning without a thunderstorm, – commented the situation weather forecaster Svetlana Kazachinskaya. – Nevertheless, there are ball lightning in the Amur region.
