Bright meteor over Norway July 4, 2016
On the night of July 5th at 0:28:51 could a large, blue-green meteor seen from most parts of southeast Norway, southern Sweden and Denmark. Meteor Network cameras recorded the Oslo, Harestua and Gran, and from this we can calculate that it went to the southeast towards the Swedish west coast and went over land ca. 2 mil south of Stromstad. Because all registrations is next on the same line, there is an uncertainty in the north / south direction. If there are precise observations from elsewhere, this uncertainty is reduced. Preliminary calculations indicate that the meteor had an input rate of about 16.5 km / s and shone down to 32 km hight. It was visible in almost five seconds. Meteorite fallout can not be excluded.
